FUELING AESTHETIC ATHLETES
SPECIALIZING IN NUTRITION RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ATHLETES’ SPORT-SPECIFIC NEEDS & PERFORMANCE GOALS
The services provided by Dana Sivak, MS, RDN, CSSD, LDN through Nutrition to Perform, LLC, stem from her passion of helping athletes, especially those in aesthetic sports. Dana’s individualized approach focuses on educating athletes about the importance of nutrition for maximizing success in their sport, while establishing healthy behaviors to benefit them long after their athletic careers.
Aesthetic sports are defined as those sports where the outcome of the athlete’s success is not only dependent on their athletic abilities, but also where a subjective judging system is in place that impacts their final placement. Typically, aesthetic sports require athletes to specialize in their sport starting at a very young age and entails countless hours of dedication towards mastering the unique skills of their sport.
Whether you’re a dancer, figure skater, gymnast, professional performer, or other-sport athlete, Dana will not only provide expert guidance on what the athlete’s diet composition should include, but will also help to ensure body composition is maximized to support long-term health and performance success. Dana brings extensive experience and professionalism to every athlete, while customizing her support to the athlete’s individual needs and performance goals.

AREAS OF PRACTICE
STRATEGIZING SEASONAL NUTRITION PLANS
Training intensity throughout the season changes depending on periodization practices during in-season and off-season training. Due to these changes, nutritional needs will vary. Strategizing an athlete’s needs throughout their season can help to maximize body composition while reducing injury risk.
OPTIMIZING BODY COMPOSITION
In aesthetic sports, optimizing body composition can be critical for performance success. Understanding an athlete’s genetic makeup, sport-specific physiology, and individualized nutrition needs all play a role in achieving one’s healthy body composition goals. As a sport-focused dietitian, Dana is ISAK I certified (International Society for Anthro- and Kinanthropometric Measurements) and can use various measurements to understand an athlete’s body composition for nutrition-specific recommendations relative to their goals.
PREVENTING EATING DISORDER BEHAVIORS
Athletes, especially those in aesthetic sports, are more at risk for developing disordered eating behaviors versus their non-athlete counterparts. Being EDOC (Eating Disorder and Obesity Certified), Dana can help with early identification of such behaviors and establishment of fueling and recovery practices conducive to a healthy relationship with food. Maintaining the health and well-being of an athlete for a long, sustainable and successful career is at the core of Dana’s philosophy.
